Il ragazzone spavaldo che non ci degna di uno sguardo è un Repubblicano indignato. Non ne siamo sicuri ma potrebbe essere tal Carlo Neroni.
Dal 1527 al 1530 Firenze era tornata repubblica ma contro Carlo V e la famiglia Medici c’era poco da sperare. Certi fiorentini caparbi e testoni, come Carlo, cercarono di resistere sfottendo l’Imperatore con una celebre partita a calcio in piazza Santa Croce. Ovviamente finì male ma la fierezza del Repubblicano pare stia tutta in quel gomito gonfio e nelle sopracciglia contratte. Questo dipinto fu battuto all’asta qualche anno fa per una quotazione mirabolante. Pensando alle sofisticazioni del mercato dell’arte, che poco o nulla hanno a che fare con il valore dell’opera, ho svuotato la testa del repubblicano e l’ho trasformata in un uovo d’oro. Senza tirare in ballo la gallina.
